With all due respect, computer science is a very broad degree, it cannot be substituted by just ten books.

I don’t think that the poster meant that these books will completely replace a cs degree in all aspects. Instead, that these books will help you to code as if you had a degree.

It’s unrealistic to say to an employer, ‘I am familiar with such-and-such books’ and expect that they will understand that you are on the level of a college graduate.

So although they may not replace a degree, they’re probably excellent as extracurricular supplement.
