    I use Ubuntu, its a Linux system. Here’s why:
    1. Free
    2. No blue screen of death.
    3. No hard drive ball ups needing expensive dealer interventions.
    4, No virus problems.
    5. Free and very interesting, online software.
    6. Runs very fast even on my old box.
    7. Updates and fixes come daily, for free.
    8. Can be re-installed easily, plop the disk in, wait . . . done! no fuss no fooling around with owners on line, no secrets, just works and well!
    9. Free from annual upgrading B.S. that requires bigger computers ever damn time!
    10. Consistency, so that what you learned a while ago, still applies today, builds your knowledge base easily without compex adaptations every new version.
    11. Takes less space on hard drive.
    12. Has two separate desktops.
    13. Is compatible with everyone else – any country, any language, any software.
    14. No big freezes in the middle of big spreadsheets! No lost data!
    15. Lots of free info on web for Ubuntu!
    16. Everyone thinks I am sooo smart!

    Please donate your old boxes to a church-group or some needy student in these hard times! To comply with the law, and with Microsoft’s leasing policy, you can now replace Microsoft OS with the free (download from the net) Ubuntu OS, which can be set to erase the hard drive of all traces of the “illegal to give away ” Microsoft system and your private information, before donation! Now, explain to your lucky recipient that all the manuals they will ever need are available for free on the internet! Just ask for them in Google! OpenOffice, which is installed already is plenty adequate for homework assignments and with a little exploring, everything else can work well too! Happy computing!
